The Week Behind

I am really glad that last week is over! I visited my thyroid doctor (endocrinologist) on Monday to find that I had been on too much thyroid hormone and it sent me the wrong direction on my labwork. I could definitely tell. My heart started pounding again and I was so super tired and couldn't sleep or focus. I think I am much better now. I stopped the medicine and am taking a beta blocker for a few days to slow things down. I lost 6 pounds this week because of it! I have slept much better the past few nights.

I started after school tutoring. I get home at 5. It makes for a long day but I am so very thankful for the opportunity to make some good money without doing anything too stressful or time consuming. It is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I think the hardest part of all for me (and if you are a teacher, you will understand) is that my recess duty falls on Tuesday and my morning duty falls on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I leave here at 7 at get home at 5. I am not used to that! I really like my tutoring group, though. I have a group of 6 first graders and we work on math skills. I actually really enjoy it and the kids.

Next. On Tuesday night, Ben accidentally left the patio door a little open and a mouse got in the house. Oh yuck! We have never had a mouse, I am proud to say, although I did read online that just because you have a mouse doesn't mean your house is dirty...It would have been fine with me, except that he woke me up at 1 a.m. on Tuesday night to tell me about it. He wanted to go to the store and get glue traps right then! Do you think I went back to sleep? Why, yes I did-at 4:30 a.m. It was terrible! It made for an extra hard Wednesday. We did get the mouse on Wednseday night.

What else? Oh, that's about all that went on here. I have been working really hard to meal plan, shopping list plan, and budget and I think I am seeing some results. We are really trying to make a difference in our spending. I hope to share more on that later.

I will try to take some photos of Sarah today for 43 weeks. I don't know what caused me to take a weekly picture, but once I started, I couldn't stop. And, we are almost to a year, so I would hate to stop at this point. I guess when she hits a year, I may just go to monthly. I mean, I will take her picture through the week as we do things, but as for a count, I will do monthly.

  1. Hey Kara,
I hope the Dr. can figure out what your body (thyroid) needs, but that you can feel good. Yuck...yay for the 6 pounds though. I lost 6.6 pounds this week too!

You have done so good taking pictures of Sarah! You will be so glad you did! Sorry about the mouse...it happens to most of us...but yuck!
